“Peaceful, calm and quiet, right on the beach - was incredible”
This was incredible! We absolutely loved our stay here, it was peaceful, right on the beach, lovely staff, big open rooms. Amazing food! Super chill vibes , will definitely be back!
“Quiet resort”
We stayed in Glenn’s House, which was huge and comfortable. The resort’s location is great because it’s very quiet, and we also liked walking around the rock pools at low tide. We’ve stayed before this trip and both times it was for the quiet and to dive with Bahura. The trade‑off for the quiet is that the only food within walking distance is the resort restaurant. They have a few nice dishes, but it gets repetitive (and expensive) quickly. Renting a motorbike would solve that problem if there’s only 1 or 2 of you.
“Great location but the actual accommodation is below average”
The spot’s location is amazing, especially if you’re into snorkeling or diving—the house reef is fantastic. The meals, however, were awful; we dined there twice and both times the food fell far below expectations, and the prices were high for what we got. Our first room had no air‑conditioning and the mosquito nets didn’t work, plus an industrial fan blew the net apart. The rooms overall look very old‑fashioned. We switched to a room with air‑conditioning, which was acceptable, but the unit was old, noisy, and barely cooled the space.
The sea view was great. The accommodation had no air conditioning and was not clean at all. It was very far from the center of San Juan and the road at the end was bad.
“Beautiful Resort by the Sea But...”
The room we booked was comfortable and spacious. The room is right on the beach. The drive from the main road is typical Philippines: scenic and friendly locals. The town of Lazi is not too far from where the turn off is. The beach isn’t really a beach; too many rocks inhibit swimming. The rooms were adjoining, so they weren’t private at all. We had neighbors and they had their laundry drying all over our assigned beach chairs, and they left beer bottles on the community table. It’s Siquijor and the expectations have to be tempered. It’s a beautiful resort no doubt. Professional staff, easy check‑in and out. For what I paid? I would probably book elsewhere in the future.
