“Den Zauber Havannas mitten in Bern.”

I was looking for a cheap option on short notice to attend a personal celebration, so I booked a single room without a balcony or WC and with breakfast. The elevator surprised me – it seemed to date back to the Belle Epoque of 1911, the last time I’d seen something like that was in Havana. The second surprise was that my single room actually had a balcony, not just a balcony or WC, and it reminded me of the little patios I know from Spain and Latin America. A Latin island right in the middle of Bern :)

The location was great and the hotel itself had a charming feel, but the interior looked outdated or had broken parts.

The location is excellent. The soundproofing is poor, so street noise can be heard easily.

“As a solo traveler, this was perfect!!”

Well located by train station with easy access to the old city. On light rail lines so could get anywhere in the region easily. Good breakfast! Clean. Friendly, kind staff. My room faced the light rail tracks that were noisy when the trains were running
