I was really impressed with the stylish apartment at Castara, especially the fully equipped kitchen. The only downside was the noise; the air conditioning couldn't be turned on at night because the neighboring unit couldn't sleep, but the fan worked fine.

Location, private, quiet, calming. Wish I could have stayed longer. Cleanliness 100. Owners accommodating, friendly, understanding, and accessible. Driver/Tour guide Roachie the Best. A little area to do laundry would have been great

It’s close to the beach and parking is easy. The village has a lot of roosters, so bring earplugs.

The spot is great for parking and sits at the top of the road. For privacy, we were tucked into the lower part of the property, offering a lovely view of bananas and cocoa trees, and the value for money was reasonable. However, the photos mislead—you won’t find the luxury they suggest. The bathtub isn’t secure and moves, which is unsettling. There’s no AC, only fans, so nights were very hot. The window in the main bedroom faces a side road, and the constant screeching of cars climbing the hill is annoying. The mosquito nets are stained and need replacement. I could nitpick more, but overall we liked it, though it felt like a more luxurious experience was promised. It’s fine for a short stay, not for a longer one.
