Location, the owner’s approach to guests, and the price. Continuous slight odor from the bathroom drain grating.
A charming little town, the room was pleasant, clean, not too big. It was great that a kettle and cups were provided, and the morning coffee on the balcony tasted amazing. The host was friendly and tried to be funny, overall a place worth recommending. However, having cutlery would have helped with the morning breakfast. The host can be overly absorbing and distrustful of people, and after the stay he had to check the room thoroughly.

1. Very convenient location. The sea is within walking distance, various beaches to choose from based on your preferences and priorities. You can walk there in 15 minutes, or spend a little more time strolling to reach a more beautiful and less crowded beach. The bus station is 10‑15 minutes away, from where you can travel to Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi and other cities. This is handy if you’re traveling without a car and want a budget trip without tours. Nearby are shops of various price ranges and assortments. You can buy everything you need. Bakeries, cafés, restaurants. The nearest restaurant, Tiffany, is 3 minutes away. The apartments are a short distance from Budva’s center, which is a plus because there’s no city noise. 2. The room had everything you need: wardrobe, hangers, nightstands, fridge, kettle, cups. So you could have breakfast at home, make tea, sandwiches, eat yogurt. Hot water in the shower was always available thanks to the boiler. A large terrace with a vineyard where you could eat grapes, drink wine, and enjoy the silence at night. Trash was taken out daily, towels changed every two days. Linen was changed once a week. I didn’t need it because I stayed 8 nights. I can especially highlight the mattress – it’s comfortable to sleep on. I have back problems, so a comfortable mattress is crucial. I slept well. 3. The owner explained everything about the apartments, showed them, explained where things are in the city, oriented me. He handled the registration, which is a big deal because some don’t. Another feature worth noting is that the house is on a hill. Montenegro is generally mountainous. Therefore the path to the sea, the old town… goes downhill, and you have to climb back up. For me that was not a downside, but a plus.
The highlight is the huge terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains and the city, shared between two rooms, but we were lucky to have no neighbors. The owner is friendly and towels are changed every two days, which is reasonable for the price. On the downside, the nearest beach is awful and the nice one is more than 1 km away; this is not the owner's fault but a warning for future guests. Also, although a stove appeared in the photos, we had no access to it. The owner could skip about half an hour of lecturing on how to use the room—no need to repeatedly show how to raise the blinds, use the AC, or where the key is; one explanation is enough.
