“A warm welcome on a rainy night.”

We received a very warm welcome. We appreciated that because we had broken down en route and it was raining. Even though the pub was busy when we arrived the owner immediately greeted us and showed us to our room. He also made sure he found us a dinner table even though we hadn't booked. The serving staff were excellent, as was the food and pub atmosphere. Breakfast was good too. Everything in the room was fine, but it was a bit soulless perhaps,; and it also took us a while to adjust the heating/windows to achieve the right temperature

“Superb”

The place has old‑world charm and the staff are excellent and very welcoming. The only drawback was that the shower mixer was a bit difficult to use, but that’s a very minor issue.

Summary of this review

The customer service was excellent; the staff were extremely helpful and eager to assist with any request. The linen had the best scent I've experienced in all my stays. The food was fabulous. If I ever return to Wincanton, this is the only place I’ll stay. Thank you, Nog Inn.
