Breakfast was good; the common areas are bright, modern, and friendly; the beverage machine offers many craft beers; a double charge for the night’s rate was quickly corrected. The room felt a bit old‑fashioned and gloomy compared to the bright, modern rest of the building, with dim lighting adding to that mood. Overall, I felt the 120 € including breakfast was overpriced—though for hikers on the Albsteig trail, finding any accommodation along the route is still a relief.

A clean hotel with nicely furnished, fairly modern rooms. The breakfast was very generous for the price. The staff were friendly, though at times they seemed a bit over the top and staged, perhaps a cultural clash between North Germans and Swabians. The mobile coverage is so bad in parts that you can’t even make a call—mobile data is a different story (that’s the hotel’s fault). Consequently you’re forced to rely on the hotel’s “Highspeed-Internet.” Even where the Wi‑Fi works, the network is unencrypted (a no‑go in 2026) and blocks almost everything beyond normal browsing and email. VPN connections, which could bypass the lack of encryption and are used by many remote workers, are also blocked. So if you need modern internet access, avoid this place; but for a few days of digital detox I’d highly recommend it. 😊

“Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch.”

I needed a wheelchair‑friendly room and booked a bit late, but Frau Fischer did everything possible to accommodate my wheelchair. There’s an elevator right from the parking lot. My wheelchair is wider than the usual ones, yet I could get in and out everywhere. For my next stay I’ll get a truly wheelchair‑accessible bathroom as well. I’m already looking forward to it 😃
