The local property was lovely, but the very steep stairs and uneven floor made me feel stuck without a drink. The floor sloped noticeably.

It was fairly basic yet had everything we needed. The place was very clean and the staff we met were lovely.

The building is a charming old structure in the center, close to everything and clean. The room lacks a main light, only a dim table lamp on one side of the bed, no bedside table on the other side, the bed is extremely soft and clearly worn, the washbasin is in the bedroom, there’s no place to hang towels or store toiletries in the shower, and no mirror in the bathroom. Because it’s self‑check‑in, I didn’t see any staff. It’s a shame for such a beautiful old building that it needs more attention to detail.

It’s located in the upper part of Bridgnorth’s center if that matters and you’re on a tight budget. Otherwise, dig a bit deeper into your pocket and look elsewhere. The place was noisy, uncomfortable, and the two nearest car parks cost £1.40 per hour (about £12 per day). I met other guests struggling on the wet pavement with their phones in the rain and darkness to find the door combination to the inner yard. As we squeezed up the narrow stairs, they complained about a poorly lit room and no noise insulation between rooms, plus the parking situation was awful. My room had no overhead or wall lighting, only a bedside lamp, no wardrobe or hook for a coat, and I didn’t stay the second night of my booking.

The location was excellent and the room was large enough. The bed was large, but we paid an extra £27 for a King‑size bed described as a King Size Deluxe, which was not deluxe at all. Access was difficult because you needed two separate key codes, which was a pain. The stairs were tricky, so elderly or infirm guests would struggle, and the door was heavily sprung. The bathroom wasn’t very clean; there was residue on the shower screen door, the toilet seat was sticky and moved when you sat on it. We stayed two nights as a couple and only received half a toilet roll, so we had to buy more because there were no instructions on how to contact staff—no staff met us at all, making it very impersonal. A constant leak in the ceiling above the toilet forced us to place a glass jar under it; it wasn’t raining, so we didn’t know where it came from. Parking was close as promised, but the claim that it was £3 per day was false; it cost us at least £14 over two days. Parking is £1.40 per hour from 8am to 6pm and free from 6pm to 8am, so parking all day would be £16.80—very misleading. Other guests also complained about access codes and parking; one guest booked for two nights left after one night.
