“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ein Ort, an dem man sich nicht als Gast, sondern als Freund fühlt”
I have travelled to many countries and stayed in countless hotels worldwide, yet I had never found the time to write a review until now – because Mercure Kathmandu truly deserves it. What makes this hotel special for me isn’t just the building, the facilities, or the location; it’s the people. Wherever you are in the hotel – at the reception, breakfast, restaurant, or anywhere in between – you encounter extraordinary friendliness and warmth that isn’t just polite courtesy. Here you feel genuinely welcomed, almost like a friend, and that’s what makes Nepal overall so special. The people here possess a unique heart‑warmth, joy of life, and helpfulness that is hard to put into words – you have to experience it yourself. At Mercure Kathmandu we felt that special Nepali hospitality intensely. Yesterday evening we had a table reserved at the Indian restaurant Zaiqa on the tenth floor; we had another wonderful evening. Our waiter Arun was attentive, warm, and friendly in a way you rarely encounter. He made us feel not just restaurant guests but people whose visit he truly enjoys. But it wasn’t just Arun – the entire Zaiqa team was exceptional. And that thread runs through the whole hotel: from reception to breakfast to all the staff we met during our stay, always that smile, that attention, and that honest warmth.
