“Dejligt sted - højskolestemning”
The staff were sweet and the vibe was relaxed. The bathroom was located in the hallway, but surprisingly it worked fine.
“Hôtel bon rapport qualité prix, pour un court séjour.”
The hotel is a popular former high school from the 60s that has had several "lives": educational, then artistic, and now hospitality. The building is listed. It was renovated respecting the original architecture, keeping many materials, objects, and décor from the era. The establishment is located in a beautiful wooded park near the town. The breakfast buffet is varied and of high quality. The architecture was largely preserved, so some spaces lack optimal ergonomics. The shower is tiny and you bump into the walls with any movement. If you want to use an electric appliance (razor, hair dryer) you must set up in the room, with the bathroom door open to have a mirror within reach. The rooms are not at all adapted for the disabled: doors open in the opposite direction of walking, and door thresholds are several centimeters high.
The breakfast buffet was especially good—everything displayed was fresh and high quality. Even though the bathroom and toilet were shared, I felt comfortable and enjoyed the nice view.
“It’s suitable for a short stay if you just want to stay close to the hotel’s location.”
The location was great and the surroundings were nice and quiet, plus parking was large and free. For the price I paid, breakfast had very limited variety. The elevator only stopped on even floors, so to reach rooms on odd floors I had to climb one flight of stairs. Checking out at 10:00 was too early. The bathroom was cramped, and the room was only cleaned every five days. There were no blinds on the windows!
“Vært et besøg i Herning!”
The location, style, simplicity, and nature were great, but it felt odd sharing a toilet/bath with others and not knowing if anyone else was staying at the same time; the reception was also closed on weekends.
