“Great staff, nice breakfast, but sketchy neighborhood”

The staff were the highlight: kind, friendly, helpful, ready to offer assistance, give recommendations, or just chat. The hotel sits close to major tourist spots like Christchurch, St Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Guinness Storehouse, and is literally next to the underrated St Audeon’s Church and Park. The property felt very safe, with a security guard after 6 pm, which could be inconvenient but also reassuring because the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Inside, the hotel was spotless and the lobby was comfortable. Breakfast was good, and having a bar service in the evenings was nice. The rooms were tiny and cramped, even more so than the pictures suggested, and we couldn’t have guests after 6 pm or stay in the hotel after 11 pm, which was annoying for a family visit. The surrounding area was somewhat unsavory, litter on the sidewalks, open drug use, and many unhoused or transient people, often visibly intoxicated.
