Sitting on your veranda and looking out over the valley feels like the world pauses for a moment; you can imagine how Tanzania must have looked before mass tourism arrived. There’s a restaurant with a beautiful view and a bar where you can have a beer. The complex is a short drive from the main road, and on the way back they dropped us off at the nearest dala‑dala stop for Arusha in their own jeep.

The staff were perfect and helpful. The rooms were clean, the food excellent, and the sunrise unforgettable. If I return to Tanzania, I’ll stay with them again.

The only guests we were, and the staff were incredibly friendly—thanks especially to Clara and the girl at the restaurant! The room was simple but just right for our stay. The Wi‑Fi and power were a bit difficult to get, but being in the middle of nowhere makes that understandable; the staff kept trying to help and we eventually got a connection and enough electricity to charge our phones.

The view was absolutely amazing, and the staff went out of their way to make the experience positive. The rooms felt a little too basic; a bit more investment in bathrooms and general facilities would help. Be sure to check the roads before you go—this is definitely a 4WD adventure.
