Gateway Inn and Suites San Francisco SFO Airport

“Great place to stay close to the airport. But plenty of things to do close by if you stay the night before a flight.”

The hotel sits right next to the airport and a handful of great bars and restaurants are just a short walk away, so I never had to go far. The rooms were huge, especially when you have a couple of suitcases, and there was a pleasant communal area to relax in. I didn't encounter any problems.

“Great value for your buck. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here.”

I was pleasantly surprised by how large the room was; there was no carpet, and the walls seemed well insulated—kids playing in the hallway next door were audible there, but I couldn't hear them from my room at all. The bed was more comfortable than I expected, the pillows were better than most hotels, and the sheets felt like some of the cleanest I've seen in a while. Having parking on site was a major reason I chose this hotel, and its proximity to the freeways made downtown a breeze. The only drawback was that the parking spaces were very limited and small, and while you could hear the planes, it wasn't as bad as in many other places I've stayed.

Getting to the airport was only a brief drive away, and the property was spotless with plenty of hot water—nothing to complain about. The downside was that the area around the hotel didn't offer many good dining options.

The room was large and beautiful, and it was close to several restaurants. The hotel also offered its own parking.
