The place is a stone’s throw from the beach and the St. Blaise‑Lac station, and the room I got was huge – a three‑bedroom even though I was solo – with a comfy bed, bright bathroom and a bathtub. Towels and sheets were fresh, but the check‑in situation was a mess: no proper reception desk, just a dusty table, vague signage and a key with no tag. The owner was nice, yet the lack of phone, Wi‑Fi and even breakfast, plus a grimy mirror and a French‑only TV, left me feeling uneasy.

I only needed the room for a night, and the front desk person was super helpful and friendly. The only drawback was that you have to lug your luggage up the stairs – there’s no elevator.

Nothing good to say – the room was filthy, the bed smelled weird, and there was no greeting at all. They didn’t serve breakfast on Sunday, the door was broken and you had to exit through a cellar door, and the whole building looks abandoned and dirty. After a 600 km drive I got a nightmare instead of a restful stop, and it was far too pricey for the condition.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, which was a nice start. Unfortunately the neighboring guests kept shouting and blasting music late into the night, got into a fight, and left blood splattered on the hallway and walls by morning. The online photos don’t match the reality at all.
