The hostel’s location was fine, but our September stay in Ísafjörður was a letdown. Iceland is already cold in September, so we expected basic comforts, yet blankets weren’t provided and we had to pay extra each day to rent sleeping bags, which felt unreasonable. Both the bathroom sink tap and shower only delivered cold water, making the experience uncomfortable in the chill. The property clearly needs serious maintenance and better basic facilities. Blankets should be included in Icelandic accommodation rather than charged separately. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves the overall guest experience.
