The spot is great right next to Cologne’s central station and the price is very reasonable, so I had no complaints.

Rooms have private bathrooms or shared facilities; the pedestrian zone lies 300 m away. The Trade Fair is one rail stop or 15 minutes’ walk; reception closes at midnight with check‑in email.

The place was really close to the main station, the staff were friendly and polite, cleanliness was adequate, the shared showers were fine, and the room came with pale white bedding and a towel.

At last, a hostel that doesn’t use bunk beds. I liked that the corridor was only accessible with a keycard, which gave me a sense of security, but the bathroom with the toilet always had an unpleasant smell.

Very close to Koln Hauptbahnhof. Not so much a hostel for budget travellers, more a flop house for people who are down on their luck. I stayed in a 5 bed dorm and there were 2 people living there. The hostel is hot, stuffy and grubby. The hostel facilities are poor, the bar doesn’t look like its been open since 1978 and there is a sign that advertises a swimming pool! Upon inspection said pool is more akin to a large floating ashtray. The lounge furniture is a collection of found wooden pallets and a smattering of grubby cushions. There are no lockers in the rooms, you have to use lockers in the corridor or in the luggage room which aren’t particularly secure. The hostel location, 5 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof, make it seem like a tempting choice. Don’t do it

The location is good, but the facilities are lacking.
