I loved the spot right next to Alchemy. It was quieter than the rest of Ubud but still had plenty of cafés and restaurants. The room was comfortable and offered good value. I wished there was a stronger sense of community.

I had breakfast at Alchemy right next door, so no comments on that. I loved the attentive staff. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool and central patio were beautiful, with lovely evening light. It was fairly quiet. The location in Penestanan was excellent. The walls of the rooms were a bit thin. There was too much traffic in Penestanan, which made walking unpleasant (not just in Ubud or Bali overall). But that isn’t the hotel’s fault.

Staying at Outpost was great: the room was spacious, pretty, and comfortable. The coworking area was really convenient, and the café was excellent for breaks or switching work zones. I was lucky to meet Judith and her Spanish colleagues who invited me to a dinner and karaoke session, which was fantastic. The shared kitchen makes it easy to meet other guests. The staff are charming, everyone knows your name and always has a smile. The best part was definitely the kitten Jess <3. Nothing to complain about.

The front desk staff were incredibly kind and cheerful, and guests received many nice discounts for nearby eateries like “Alchemy,” which is right next to the hotel and highly recommended; the inner courtyard with a pool and outdoor kitchen was lovely. However, the building was very thin—if someone talked on their balcony right outside your door it felt like they were in your room, the front door was too thin leading straight to the courtyard, constant traffic noise made sleeping hard, and some guests kept chatting until 4 am.

The coliving matched the photos perfectly, with a superb rooftop café, a gorgeous space overlooking nature that’s ideal for relaxing, meeting people, or working in the glass‑walled, air‑conditioned office area. Its location is great – close enough to the centre yet far enough to stay quiet – and there’s a restaurant practically attached to the hotel and one of the best yoga/meditation centres just across the street, plus countless eateries within walking distance. Our Suite was pleasant, featuring a large, comfy bed, and we were so happy we extended our stay from three to seven nights. The only minor issues were the bathroom door’s frosted glass letting in a lot of light, forcing us to use an eye mask unless we closed the curtain, and the sink’s odd placement that forces you to either use it from the side or step into the bathtub to reach it.
