“Relaxing farmhouse – but no real parking for motorbikes”

The farmhouse setting is really nice and quiet. After some stressful weeks traveling through Peru, the whole place invited me to slow down and relax. The volunteer kept the shared kitchen clean, so I enjoyed cooking there, and the owner was friendly and helpful. The “free parking” is actually a cow field behind the hotel, and the gate was broken, so it can’t be locked. When I pointed out that it wasn’t real parking, the owner directed me to a spot with partial CCTV coverage and explained that the neighborhood is very safe, which may well be true. Still, anyone traveling with a motorbike or valuables in a vehicle should know this before booking. Sound carries in the house, so it depends on other guests being considerate.

The common areas are nice and there’s plenty of stuff to keep yourself occupied. The owner was very nice and the price is great. For the first time in my travels I came across an electric guitar and it was a pleasant experience. Even though the owner was really nice, she was nearly impossible to reach; only after 2 hours had she responded and helped me relocate my stuff from storage, after multiple calls and bell rings. The whole place is very squeaky and so is the bed—you hear every step from the floor upstairs. The location was nice and quiet even though not ideal. Also the photos show 6 different guitars, I only saw 2, one of them had a broken string. It was still nice to have anything at all though.

The hostel staff are very friendly. The kitchen is easy to use and the bed in the shared room is comfortable. It’s the kind of hostel that has good energy and attracts good people, and I met some great folks there.

It’s a short walk from the Piskak market and the farm is adjacent, so the environment is excellent. It’s cleaned every day, and I was able to hang laundry.
