Breakfast and all meals were 10/10, and the location was superb! The only problem was the windows: our room was very comfortable, clean, and modern, but because the building is old the window didn’t seal properly, so it was noisy at night when we tried to sleep (we overlooked the front of the pub – Vinney Ridge Room).

Everyone was very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was lovely—though we wish we could have had a chance to have dinner too! The bed was nice and comfortable, and the room offered a nice drink selection. The shower was lovely, and I was very glad there was a fan in our room. The cleaner was very chatty, friendly, and helpful, and the smart TV gave us lots of choice. The room is on the slightly smaller side, but that was not an issue. The kitchen was playing rather loud music in the morning and we seemed to be directly above it, yet the rest of the stay was lovely and quiet despite being on the main road with single‑glazed windows.

The room was unacceptable. Directly above the kitchen it was much too hot and too noisy.

Good location. Good staff. Nice pub. We stayed during a heatwave and our bedroom window faced the afternoon sun. External shutters would have been a good solution to keep the room cool
