The hot‑spring water was just the right temperature, but there were no curtains, so the light at four a.m. kept me awake.

The lock was hard to engage, and I wanted to take a bath in the morning.

The onsen was beautiful, the forest setting was quiet, and the surroundings were lovely; the staff were friendly and helpful, and the Japanese style was simple with futons. However, there were many small and large beetles and flies constantly buzzing around us, so we kept the windows shut, yet the pest problem persisted (the hotel is in the woods).
