The bed was super comfy, the room spotless, and the location spot‑on with easy parking. The team—Carmen, Kensley, and Barry—went above and beyond for our late check‑in, making the whole experience feel amazing. The bistro food was delicious, the vibe throughout the hotel great, and we’re already planning a return.

The updated, clean, large beer garden had a huge screen and the pub inside was great too; the meals were amazing. However, you get what you pay for—$65 a night feels a bit expensive for a room that only comes with a bed and a sink, plus the communal toilets and showers. I thought the floor might give way under me; gaps in the floorboards were fairly large in some spots and very bouncy.

The spot was convenient and the food was said to be excellent. My room was clean, tidy, and the bed comfortable. It did feel a bit Spartan, but that’s expected for a budget room and you get what you pay for.

The location was excellent—right in the town centre, close to everything, and the old building itself was really nice. Overall, a great stay.
