It was very cosy and welcoming, and the staff were lovely. The only issue was that it was slightly cold and all the chairs needed cushions.

It’s a nice place to stay, the atmosphere is good, and the food is exceptional with great staff and a good selection of beers and wines. Breakfast the next day was really good, and checkout time is reasonable; I’ll definitely return. The downside was being woken by kitchen noises at about 6.30 am and then loud music with a heavy bass line right after; I couldn’t get back to sleep, though I understand the staff need to prepare breakfast.

Absolutely lovely, as always. It’s our second visit. I noticed the room had a slight damp smell, but it’s an old building, so maybe that’s unavoidable.

Great location, lovely view, comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. The pub food was very tasty. The bathroom furniture looked scruffy and needed updating, the shower screen was broken and the sink unit was falling apart. The TV didn’t work and I had to take a cold shower because hot water was only available in the mid‑afternoon.
