“A great base for exploring central Sfax”
The hotel offers solid, affordable lodging in central Sfax, with a tidy room that had all the essentials. Breakfast was decent, and the location was the best part – a short walk to the train and bus stations and the main sights, plus plenty of shops and markets nearby. The only downside was that Wi‑Fi was spotty and basically non‑existent for almost the whole day.
The reception was welcoming and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the room clean, with a view of the water from the window. Breakfast was very basic – baguette, jam, hard‑boiled egg, cake, yogurt, coffee, milk – but it was enough. It’s only about a 15‑minute walk to the rental station. The staff smoke inside the building, and the area gets a bit noisy at night because of the benches by the water and scooters that make noise on the street.
“Je déconseille fortement”
The hotel was poorly maintained, the room was too small, and there were many mosquitoes and flies. It clearly needs renovation.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, which was a pleasant surprise after reading some negative reviews. I expected a worse room, but it was fine for a one‑night transit stop. The only issue was that there was no Wi‑Fi in the room.
“Je n'y retournerai pas”
Nothing special, except the staff were kind and polite. The rooms were too small, lacked renovation, and there were many mosquitoes and dead flies on the interior window sills. There was no high chair for a baby. The shower was badly arranged – I slipped and almost fell, which was very dangerous.
