“Un camping au prix d'un hôtel étoilé”
I was surprised by the outdoor bathroom, which is fine except when it rains—you have to brush your teeth and use the toilet outside. The bed was outdoors. The room itself was clean. I didn’t expect a 4‑star hotel for €135 a night without breakfast, and the extra paid activities were pricey, so I wouldn’t write a review for a lower rate or all‑inclusive deal. We stayed in a “superior” chalet that turned out to be half a chalet, the worst in the hotel: no windows, a bed hanging over a stream and the sewage outlet (odors), no drying rack, a tiny terrace with only two chairs and a small table. We told our kids not to play in the stream. There were many loose objects around the hotel: a chair in a tree, plastic pots, various tools, plastic waste. The transfer to the hotel was chaotic, and our luggage got wet, unlike other transfers where staff protected our bags. We had to give a one‑hour arrival window if we wanted to be picked up. I suggested sending a message an hour before arrival, which didn’t work. In the end, we waited 30 minutes because no one was at the pickup spot despite the provided time slot. The manager isn’t on the island, and it feels that way. There’s a big gap between what was communicated via Booking and reality. We waited an hour for dinner because a reservation was needed. The chef didn’t even bring all the ordered dishes. There’s no juice, even though it’s listed in the package. Communication with staff was a major issue. For €135 a night: no trash bin, no toilet paper, no exterior light (broken and unrepaired), walls between rooms aren’t sound‑proof, many stray dogs and cats, no power outlet, no Wi‑Fi (but I knew this a day before). We had to cross the stream to reach our chalet. The activities are very expensive. We never found the hiking trails. The price is absolutely unjustified because the hotel isn’t maintained. Finally, we caught a parasite from a fish that wasn’t fresh—a big tourist trap for Westerners. I paid less at the Hilton in Kuching.
