I had a fantastic stay at a small family‑run Ryokan. Everything felt very authentic, with both Japanese and Western breakfast options, a small onsen, and classic amenities. The hosts were especially helpful and attentive.

The place was spotless and perfectly located. All the facilities were cozy and complete. The staff were kind and attentive. One of us was vegetarian and the breakfast was adapted for us. It was the best part of our Japan trip. We could walk to everything and the onsen was clean and relaxing. Nothing was lacking.

Everything was great: the intimate setting, a large Japanese‑style room, a well‑maintained onsen, and plentiful international or Japanese breakfast options. The staff were ready to give us information. Some areas showed a bit of wear, but it still had a unique charm.

After three months in Japan, I've never slept on a futon as thin as this.
