Everything was exceptional—from the attentive staff, the food, the location, to the room—there was nothing I could fault.

Located in the heart of Fira Town, Aperto Suites - Adults Only offers minimally decorated suites with hot tub or spa bath and Aegean Sea and volcano views. Suites feature private bathrooms with showers and some have private terraces with outdoor hot tubs. The hotel is 6 km from Santorini International Airport and 12 km from scenic Oia, with restaurants, shops, and bars within a short walk.

Our stay at Athina Suites felt truly magical; we couldn’t have asked for a more special place in Santorini. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect and the team was lovely, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout. My partner proposed to me during our stay, making it even more unforgettable, and we wouldn’t have wanted to experience such a moment elsewhere. The beautiful setting, amazing service, and everyone’s kindness made it feel absolutely perfect. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we’re so grateful for how special they made it for us. We would highly recommend Athina Suites to anyone visiting Santorini and would love to come back one day!

The views from the bar and pool are fantastic. Breakfast is very good, but it’s delivered to the room within a pre‑requested 30‑minute window, and sometimes the coffee arrives cold. On the second night I asked for it not to be brought to the room, so we went to the reception bar instead, which was better. Access is very difficult, which makes sense given its location on the almost vertical topography of Fira. The hotel offers a transfer service from the port or airport at 40 euros per room; I recommend it because other options are more expensive and more cumbersome.

Stunning views and location, super clean rooms, and attentive staff—nothing negative.

The room design was pleasant and clean, with a nice terrace view and excellent breakfast. The reception staff were far from professional and below the standard expected for a property with such claims and prices. Over the days leading up to arrival, we received messages saying the room was unavailable for dates different from the one we had booked and paid for, because a request for availability had been made by another guest with the same first name as ours (perhaps it would help to record the surname too). At check‑in we had to explicitly ask to be escorted to the room – the property has several annexes, so it’s not easy to find your way. The door was barely opened, so the next day we had to locate the private terrace where breakfast would be served on our own (since it wasn’t adjacent to the assigned room). Worse than the reception failures was suite 27, which was literally a sickly cave. The only source of natural light/air was the entrance door, which cannot be left open because it faces a corridor that leads to another room and a service area. The jacuzzi (a must for Santorini hotels) is indoors, and because it’s always full it creates a lot of condensation that makes the floors slippery and the sheets and towels damp. The minibar is extremely noisy, and we had to unplug it during the night to sleep. Luckily we only stayed one night (a second night would have been objectively difficult in such an environment). If you’re thinking of staying here, make sure you’re not booked into suite 27.
