I liked the room and the hotel was clean; the breakfast was varied and enjoyable. Unfortunately the spa was closed, so if that’s important you should check with the hotel before booking.

The food was tasty and beautifully presented, the staff were always courteous, and the treatments we received were top‑class. The downside was the lack of a nice outdoor area; at the front of the hotel you’re surrounded by parked cars, and the courtyard behind the building isn’t much better. In the summer the rooms lack air conditioning, but there is a nice indoor pool to cool off.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Lafonte. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming, and gave us useful information that made our time in Karlovy Vary better. The room was excellent and we enjoyed the swimming pool. We left before breakfast, but they arranged a takeaway breakfast for us, which was excellent and much appreciated. We chose the location because it was close to the train station, but it was a distance from the main part of town; walking there and back was a good (though a bit long) walk.
