“In die Jahre gekommenes, zu teures Hotel mit netten Wirt!”
The host is very nice, polite and friendly, and he prepared a tasty breakfast for just €12, even with eggs! However, the hotel is very old‑fashioned, our room smelled strongly of a sweet cleaning product, the bedding had a strong detergent scent (maybe fabric softener?), some furniture wobbled, and the carpet looked old. The bathroom had a sink in the room, with a separate shower and toilet. €120 for this room is too much; it’s the only hotel in Höfen, but you can eat well at the Alte Molkerei.
The breakfast was tasty and could be served half an hour earlier upon request; both owners were very friendly and thoughtful. The room itself was tidy, the bathroom was good and pleasant. The mattresses were hard, the memory‑foam kept you stuck and made turning uncomfortable; the bed frames were also stiff. Our room sat right next to the front door, which only closes gently with the key, otherwise it needs a hard slam. Every other guest did that with a hard slam.

The bed was wonderful, but I missed a fridge in the room. The location felt a bit remote, too far from Monschau if you wanted to visit the town. The price‑quality ratio could have been a few euros cheaper. A few lamps were broken, so the room felt a bit dark.
