We only stayed one night and unfortunately arrived late because we missed our train. Our only regret was not being able to enjoy the place longer. The owner was charming because we didn't find the entrance right away (we had misread the instructions: the accommodation was accessible from the parking side and not from the gallery side as Maps indicated…) – someone came to our aid within 10 minutes.

The neighborhood doesn't look impressive but the establishment is really beautiful inside. The room opens onto a very small, cute garden. A good base to visit the samurai district. And the onsen at home is very pleasant. The breakfast is very expensive and only moderately suited to Western tastes. We don't recommend it especially with children.

Staying in a historic machiya gave a unique vibe, and the dinner we had at the opposite Madoka‑san’s place was absolutely delicious.

The accommodation is full of traditional charm, with wooden construction and a Japanese garden that create a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The room’s facilities are well maintained, preserving the rustic look while still being comfortable. During our stay we felt immersed in the local culture, making it perfect for travelers who want a traditional experience, and I’ll definitely return if I get the chance.
