“Wonderful stay.”
Breakfast was awesome and the staff were friendly, but the wellness/spa was not great—just a heated pool and a sauna—and the room had a small balcony overlooking the area.
In this historic hotel, I felt very comfortable, following the footsteps of my ancestor who once served as a police officer here, everything was in order. The staff were very friendly, the room was tastefully furnished and clean, and the small indoor pool was great. A salmon dish at breakfast would be nice.

The hotel’s quiet location, breakfast, friendly restaurant staff and spa were all positives, but the receptionist was very rude, the shower pressure was poor and on the second day we had no water at all, forcing us to shower in the spa; when we asked the front desk they just said they were aware, without any apology. The building has charm, yet the rooms feel a bit dated.

The room felt almost like a suite, with a large lounge area, dining table, chairs, a big sofa, a kitchenette with a stove and fridge, a nice bedroom, and a large bathroom. The duvet was just a bit heavy for my taste, the hotel needs an update, but it’s very comfortable; a fresh coat of paint and new curtains would do wonders. It’s definitely good value for money as it is.

The whole hotel felt very calm, with no traffic noise and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff’s friendliness stood out, almost family‑like, and the overall cleanliness impressed me. Because my husband is gluten‑intolerant, we were surprised by how concerned and cooperative the kitchen staff were. I had no complaints.
