Hotel Goldener Stern - Self check-in

“Was expecting a cleaner room and bathroom for the price.”

The location is good, close to the main train station and other sites, and there’s a clean laundromat across the street; the room includes a coffee machine and pods. The bathroom needs a deep clean—black mold covers the lower half of the shower tile grout, the shower door tracks, and the sink overflow is also moldy. The toilet brush in the receptacle by the toilet is worn, brown‑black, and grossly dirty, which is hard to ignore in the small bathroom. The bed is hard, the pillows are flat, and the carpet has many stains.

Great location in the city, a nice hotel! Everything was very good. Everything was wonderful, except the cleaning—apparently before we checked in, the staff didn’t put much effort into tidying the rooms. The most striking issue was the uncleaned coffee spoons and cups, and a few other factors, but everything else was fine.

Very central, a cute small hotel. The breakfast at the on‑site bar is very good. It was noted that a digital check‑in was expected, but between the various access codes it took us a while to figure it out; being greeted by people is still more pleasant.

“Ok”

The place is in a good spot, but it’s tiny and ridiculously pricey—over 300 francs for a single night—and the self‑check‑in process was a hassle.
