“Zeer bijzonder en niet alledaags.”
When I got to the hotel it seemed closed, the windows made it look like a construction site and the door was locked. Behind the hotel were old cars, like a junkyard. I checked the front again and found a small staircase up. A note with my name and room number hung in front, but the door was still locked, with a barking dog behind it—what a scene. I went further back and saw another building that belonged to the complex. Through a nice conservatory I entered a corridor that felt like the start of the previous building: long hallway and antique doors. Room 3 was open, with floral wallpaper and an old‑style double bed that was fine. The toilet, shower, and sink were in the hallway. Breakfast was served in a very unusual space, with sliced bread from plastic bags. I suspect there’s a niche audience for a place like this. I was riding a 1948 BSA motorbike, which fit the vibe. I could imagine a group holding a meeting here, but I worry partners would want more comfort. I wish Robert success with the renovation.
The place wasn’t clean; dust threads hung everywhere and it was dreadful. In the toilet there was a smell of an old place. At breakfast, jam from a jar and butter on a butter knife were not hygienic due to cross‑contamination.
