“Nettes Hotel, Personal und Kommunikation inkompetent”

The phone staff were extremely unfriendly, and nobody was on site except the kitchen crew in the morning. When I asked why I wasn’t told in advance that the restaurant was closed, the phone line lied to me. They claimed an email had been sent and that the website had noted it, but both were proven false in a follow‑up call the next day. No one was available for checkout; I had to hand my key to the kitchen staff in the breakfast room. Afterwards the hotel contacted me and complained that I’d left without paying, which wasn’t possible. I explained that you could send me the bill and I would pay immediately, but I would reduce it by twelve euros and exercise my right to a discount because a key feature of the hotel—the availability of evening meals—was missing. You should know that there is absolutely no dining option nearby; only the next towns, Prenzlau or Pasewalk, offer any. If you’re walking or hiking, you need to book hotels that provide evening meals—albeit for a fee. I was utterly disappointed, even by how I was communicated with. I can only advise anyone booking there to have an alternative for dinner, or bring a suitable lunch‑or‑dinner package.

The location is dreamy, the beds are perfect, the staff are very friendly, the place is extraordinary, and it’s ideal for cyclists. The cleanliness of the balconies (trash, bird droppings) and the coffee machine/water kettle in the room was lacking.

The breakfast was generous, balanced, and very good. The scenery is perfect for those who prefer a quieter setting, yet it isn’t dull. Everything else was fine.
