Breakfast was well organized. The staff were very friendly and trustworthy. Nothing in particular.

The Captain’s welcome was incredibly warm, and his background as a former merchant ship commander gives him a natural knack for hospitality. He really wants guests to feel at home. The house itself is huge, easy to get to, and close to Nelson. My room was comfortable and spotless. The garden is lush and impeccably maintained. The downside was the breakfast, which felt more like factory‑produced fare and lacked personal generosity; nothing was homemade, which is a shame for such a beautiful place. The housekeeper was rarely around.

The place is stunning and cozy, almost like staying in a resort. The owner and his wife from Taiwan are very hospitable, the surroundings are lovely, and the interior design is top‑tier, all at a reasonable price—definitely a better value than a five‑star hotel. The only gripe is that the name “BnB” feels low‑brow; it should be called a “resort” or “estate.”

Steve and Juliet run a real gem of a B&B. It’s a bit quirky with the “shoes off” rule, but the beautiful timber floors make it understandable. We weren’t used to not having a TV in our room, but that wasn’t a deal‑breaker. The big screen downstairs was a nice touch.
