“Very confused about whether this property is actually open or not.”
We never got to stay, so I can’t comment on that. We received no communication from the property before our arrival. We arrived at the site at 1515hrs, fifteen minutes after check‑in opened, and no one answered the door, so we walked around the back to see if there was another entrance we should have used. The building was completely empty—no people, no furniture. We called the property, but no one answered. We searched the grounds and the shop next door, but no one was there. We also went into town and asked locals, who told us it had been sold months ago and was probably not open. I called customer service, who also tried to contact the property without success, so we had to cancel and find somewhere else at the last minute. Several hours later, at 1900hrs, the property called asking why we had cancelled. The woman was quite rude on the phone and didn’t seem to understand that we were worried the business was closed and that we had to find accommodation elsewhere. She seemed more concerned about having the wrong information and never apologized for not answering or for the stress we felt when we thought there would be no place for us to stay. A pretty confusing encounter.
