“Great Location, Needs Work”
The location was perfect - close to the ocean, fish market, and airport, and it was a quiet area with everything I needed within walking distance. However, the room could use a refresh - the ventilation needs some work and it could do with a bit of a renovation. Still, it was a decent place to stay.
“Complete Disaster”
This place was a total letdown - it's not even a real hotel, just a bunch of separately managed rooms. The weird hosting system meant my room had a different host, Rocky, who wasn't even on site. The staff at the premise washed their hands of any requests, and I was left dealing with a room that was barely maintained. Almost everything was broken or not working, and the bathroom was a nightmare - mold, cockroaches, and no toilet paper.
“Not Impressed”
The checkout time was great, but that's about where the positives ended for me. The air-conditioner was pretty much useless, and I ended up getting only 3 hours of sleep because of it. To make matters worse, I needed 4 showers and the staff couldn't even provide bug spray for the mosquitoes. Not exactly the best start to my stay.
“Last-Minute Savior”
We were desperate for a last-minute place near the airport and stumbled upon this hostel. The owner was super helpful and responsive, even when we contacted them at 2am. The location was a bit tricky to find, but it was only a 10-15 minute taxi ride. The only downside was that the toilet and shower had some issues, but we only stayed one night so it wasn't a huge deal. Big thanks to the owner for their help.
