The location is ideal for exploring nearby spots, the view is stunning and it’s always cool. Mr. Antonio is very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast comes with warm brioche every morning. The room is quiet, fully equipped, consistently clean and fragrant. Nothing was wrong; everything was perfect.
I couldn’t locate any hotels in Gaeta or Formia, so I ended up spending a single night at Esperia. The building isn’t brand‑new, yet it’s been kept in great shape, sits in a very quiet little village, was spotless, and the owner was extremely friendly, offering excellent value for money.
As a 2‑star hotel, you can’t expect high‑end services, but for what they claim to provide, the staff were extremely kind and helpful, making the stay very pleasant. If you’re looking for a basic, no‑frills place to stay a few nights, with good value and friendly service, it deserves a visit.

I really appreciated the staff and the spot. The place was spotless. Because the people were so helpful and kind, I had to give the hotel an exceptional rating in every category. The view from my room was extraordinary, and there’s a pharmacy, post office, bar and an outstanding restaurant just down the street. I was glad to avoid crowds of other tourists, and I hope this hotel continues to attract many guests. I didn’t mind at all that the hotel is modest and the rooms are simple and basic, but guests should know that’s what to expect. There was an issue with the air conditioning (being repaired) and electrical power, but I would expect it is all being repaired.
