I gave it one star, but I could have given it none. The chef, Marius, is an excellent person. I called the hotel because we were going to arrive late and asked for a recommendation on where to eat in the area. Instead, he prepared a delicious dinner for us, and we had a very pleasant conversation. I asked him again where we could have dinner the following day, as it was my wife's birthday. He said he could prepare a special dinner for us, and we agreed. The next evening, there was no one there. I called the mobile number listed at reception and spoke to him directly; he was at home. He told me the owner had cancelled the dinner. The owner called me later; his explanation was hard to believe, and his suggestion for making up for the mistake was inappropriate. It’s a shame, because it somewhat ruined our celebratory weekend. There was nowhere left to have a birthday dinner on a Saturday at 8:30 PM. Unacceptable

The staff greeted me warmly, but there was no biscuit accompanying the coffee in the room.

The room was lovely and the owner was extremely welcoming, yet it wasn’t clear that breakfast was separate and not included.
