Getting to the lake straight from the hotel was a real perk, the restaurant was great and the staff were fantastic.

The hotel sits right on the lake with a swim platform, so you can swim straight from the property and there are also loungers; the rooms face the lake and are wonderfully quiet, the romantic garden by the lake is lovely, the staff (German‑speaking) are friendly, especially at the reception, and the house has a (old‑time) charm. The breakfast was very sparse: only plain cornflakes, no other cereals, no nuts/raisins/flaxseeds/pumpkin seeds or similar, even when asked; no whole‑grain bread or rolls, no fresh fruit, just one very slow coffee machine that drew long lines; there was no wellness area (no sauna, no fitness), the bus link to Lugano/Menaggio was thin, parking for car travellers was scarce, but luckily there was a small corner shop next to the hotel where you can buy cakes, fruit, drinks and the essentials (closed on Sundays).

Reality surpasses expectations! The location is fantastic! A beautiful, very atmospheric hotel right on the coast! Stunning interior and lake view! Breakfast is included! Food (lunches and dinners) at the hotel restaurant is paid for, the food is very tasty! The average price for a good dinner for two is about 100 euros. If you’re not driving yourself, you’ll need to either rent a car or fit your schedule to the bus timetable, which runs extremely rarely.
