The breakfast offered a wide variety that left me satisfied, and the hot springs were spacious enough to enjoy. However, dinner was limited in options and portions felt small for adults, so I had to add a few single dishes.

We were let in early, which was great because we arrived on one of the few buses and had little flexibility with the arrival time. The room was very nice and roomy, with comfortable beds. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious and we loved it. The Onsen facilities are huge with many types of pools, and the highlight is definitely the small forest around the hotel, very peaceful and perfect for a short morning walk. The mixed pool in the Onsen is a bit awkward; I wasn’t sure how to enter it as a female, if it’s okay to put a towel in the water around you, so more instructions for foreigners would be nice. Also the toiletries in the Onsen were very basic, lacking many face cosmetics.

The famous hot spring bath and open-air bath are impeccable, and I was able to climb Mount Takachiho and enjoy a wonderful time. The food was also very delicious.
