“Relaxte beach vibe op geweldige plek aan zee”
We loved the tiny paradise vibe – the beach is just a short walk away and the atmosphere among the bungalows and apartments feels relaxed and tidy; our bungalow with an extra bed was a bit tight for three teenagers, but since we spent most of the day outdoors it worked fine, and they provided beach towels, daily cleaning and fresh bath towels if you wanted them. It was great to have booked an extra night to finish our Mexico trip, and the little town with its many restaurants, cafés and cute shops is only about a 5‑minute walk away. Breakfast was decent though not very extensive, and a cappuccino cost extra; there were plenty of beach loungers and you could bring your own water or sandwich instead of ordering everything at the bar, and even non‑guests could use the beds. The sea was shallow and a stunning blue, and the staff were very welcoming. On the downside, the bungalow’s price‑to‑quality ratio felt off because the toilet flushed poorly and clogged several times despite not using toilet paper, the cupboard doors were flimsy, and the kitchen gear was minimal and dated, which seems below the nightly rate. As for Holbox in general, it’s worth visiting, and the whale‑shark snorkeling tour is also a must, but be prepared for a 2.5‑hour boat ride over high waves – they only mention that once you’re already on the boat.
