“まぁまぁかな?”
The breakfast offered a wide variety and tasted great, and the location was perfect, being close to the castle. Unfortunately, both the room and the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke.

The staff were friendly, the view from the room faced Wakayama Castle and was beautiful, but several areas of the property still carried a distinct Showa‑era vibe.

Breakfast tasted bad.

When I first booked, the price felt just right – not too high, not too low – and that impression has held up; the cleanliness, approachable staff and relaxing atmosphere were all spot on, and opening the curtains gave a stunning view of Wakayama Castle, which was simply amazing. I’ll definitely return whenever I’m in Wakayama because I adore this hotel. One issue I raised with the staff was that the bath towel was hung so high that even a tall male guest couldn’t see it; while moving it may not be possible, a low‑positioned sign or a note on the bed would make it easier to locate. I’m still a huge fan and will recommend it to friends, but I wanted to point out how hard the towel was to find.

Opening the window gave a wonderful view of Wakayama Castle, which was a real highlight. The only problem was that my vehicle was too tall for the on‑site parking, though there was a nearby coin‑operated lot that solved the issue.
