“Dining room staff very good !”

The view was good. The room and shower were not satisfactory.

I adore this hotel; it’s incredibly beautiful with countless small details that delight the eye, like painted ceilings and carved furniture. The chateau bedrooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable—something I’ve experienced in two rooms so far, though I haven’t stayed in the lodge. Breakfast was good with a nice selection, and I heard two guests rave about the Chateau French toast (bara brith with honey). The staff throughout the hotel are friendly. The chateau has many stairs, but a lift is available. There’s an outdoor terrace and gardens that lead down to the water. From the terrace, sipping the recommended Aberfalls orange gin from the bar while looking over the straits to the mountains is simply stunning. The only tiny gripe is that the bedroom tray could include decaf tea and hot chocolate sachets.

The building is beautiful, the location and views are great. There was nothing really negative, maybe the room felt a bit dated.

All the facilities are excellent, and there’s nothing to complain about.

The hotel is stunning. The grounds and communal areas are beautiful. It felt like a very special place. We enjoyed exploring the gardens and the walk to the waters edge. The room was styled well and the shower in the turret was a particularly nice touch. We had our evening meal and breakfast at the hotel, both were good. The staff were fantastic, very attentive and welcoming. The two bars weren't fully stocked with the same drinks so took quite a while to get served depending on what you ordered at each bar, however it is understandable considering how large and complex the building is!
