“Gute Lage für einen E-Bike-Kurzurlaub”
The great location in Lienz made the short stay with an e‑bike very convenient, allowing easy planning of hiking and bike trips without a car.

Nestled at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites, Gasthof Schlossberghof lies just a 10‑minute stroll from Lienz’s historic center and a stone’s throw from the Hochstein summer railway. Rooms feature private baths, cable TV, and balconies overlooking alpine vistas. Family‑friendly amenities include baby cots, bathtubs, and high chairs. Complimentary Wi‑Fi, free private parking, and a covered motorcycle lot enhance convenience. The on‑site restaurant closes Sundays and Mondays.

Staying in a palace is a must‑have, and the hotel delivers on that promise. Both the rooms and the restaurant are palace‑worthy. I think it would be nice if the staff uniforms also reflected the era, adding even more sparkle and setting it apart from many other hotels worldwide. The architecture and location make uniqueness easier to achieve. At this price per night, I shouldn’t have to pay extra for parking.

The location is good, and the rooms and small bathrooms appear freshly renovated with a comfortable bed; you can park right outside the front door, and a supermarket and a sledding slope are next door. Breakfast is solid and the coffee tastes good. However, the rooms, while renovated, still feel like a 1970s accommodation and lack modern amenities: no elevator and no fridge in the room. The balcony has old artificial grass and you’re allowed to sit on garden chairs that are probably older than you. The “guest garden” is uninviting, making it more of a sleeping spot than a vacation destination, and it’s definitely overpriced.

I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago. Everything has been modernised. The reception and restaurants are excellent. The motorcycles are sheltered. The room is spacious and comfortable.

A rich, fine breakfast buffet. Located near the old town, the windows are well insulated and it’s not directly on the street, so it’s fairly quiet.
