The breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly, but the room felt a bit worn with wallpaper peeling and there was only one plain biscuit per guest.

The breakfast was decent, but there was too much sauce on the scrambled eggs and coffee was charged for a breakfast that was supposed to be free!

The hotel’s area and the hotel itself were good, but the bar was busy and new staff were still training, so service was very slow; I had to chase up a dessert menu and nobody returned to take my order after about 30 minutes, so I had to find someone else. It didn’t ruin the night since we weren’t in a hurry and I understand new staff need training, but a few more experienced staff could have helped the rushed newcomers keep customers happy. The food was excellent, and in previous visits service had been excellent, so I know this is a temporary issue that could happen elsewhere when new staff are being trained.
