Comfort was basic but acceptable for a desert setting; it was clean and we ate well. The hosts were welcoming, and an ostrich even visited us at breakfast. We had a pleasant stay. We were very hot at night, but we didn’t expect AC in the middle of the desert, so we slept with the door open.

The dunes right next to the camp and the camel excursion gave a real change of scenery. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, just watch out for the little cats that love to nibble. The owner was nowhere to be found, so we only spoke on the phone. Two young staff members welcomed us; they were friendly but spoke neither French nor English. There was no way to cool the room (September, 39° all day, so it never cooled at night) and the lights didn’t work.

The spot was quiet, cozy, with a nice view, a good shower and bed, and the staff were very friendly. However, it was too hot and unbearable to sleep in the cabin; there was no cooling spot on the property at temperatures between 35‑40 °C, so we left a night earlier than booked. It’s best to stay from October to March when it will be great.
