Located in a renovated 18th‑century building near Príncipe Real Garden, WOT New Lisbon Social blends original Portuguese tiles with vintage décor and a large ball pit. Private double rooms and mixed or gender‑specific dorms offer shared bathrooms, some with panoramic river views. Guests enjoy a communal kitchen, on‑site bar, patio with sofas and showers, foosball, and a 5‑minute walk to Bairro Alto’s nightlife.

Good location and building.

The staff were helpful and breakfast was basic but plentiful and well prepared, offering something for everyone. The shower always had a steady flow of cold, warm, and hot water. However, the building had a chaotic layout of stairs with almost no handrails, slippery bathroom and shower floors with no grab bars, constant noise from the rear alley especially at night, a poorly designed toilet flush that rarely worked, and inadequate luggage lockers that only held small items and were clearly not meant for carry‑on luggage or backpacks. These issues could be fixed cheaply but would require effort. Without these practical improvements I would not return or recommend this place.

I liked the décor, service, easy access just 15 minutes on foot from the train station, comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms. The room I stayed in had no air conditioning and the windows were open, so some breeze came in but it could get hot in summer. For the price it’s worth it; it’s just a small detail.
