The place had a lot of charm, everything was spotless, and the room was comfortable; the host was very nice and gave excellent recommendations, and the breakfast was delicious and included a daily olive‑oil tasting.

The hotel sits in a small, quiet town with notable Roman ruins nearby; it’s a small, beautifully presented property, and the pool and patio area are superb after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was a culinary experience, complete with olive‑oil tasting and education. Raoul is the perfect host and is a close friend of the mayor, so special requests are easy to arrange. The honesty bar means you won’t find a fully serviced bar, but several local bars are a short walk away. Dinner is beautifully cooked and presented, though you need to preorder. Almedinilla isn’t a pretty town, but the Roman antiquities more than make up for it, and there’s no lift if stairs are an issue.

The place is incredibly calm and tranquil, perfectly capturing Andalusia with beautiful touches everywhere. Raul was fantastic, the food was incredible, and the olive oil tastings were a great bonus. We left Hospederia La Era feeling calm and grateful and would love to revisit if the opportunity arises. Everything was perfect.
