Our flight got cancelled, so we stayed at Golda Sol for two nights while we waited for the next one. The hosts were very welcoming and did their best to give us good service. The hotel has a swimming pool and a garden, and there’s a large shopping centre about a 20‑minute walk away. The building feels old and could use a renovation. There was a noticeable musty smell in the room, so we kept the windows open all night. The room came with air conditioning and a TV. The shower was very narrow and the tap was broken, so we had to use it carefully. Breakfast was decent and included in the price (croissants, ham, cheese, a coffee machine, flakes, etc.). The corridors looked like a Catholic pilgrimage home, with many images and statues of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Padre Pio, and Saint Anthony. I felt a little awkward playing pool on the ground floor next to the Padre Pio altar, but we still enjoyed reading on sunbeds beside the pool in the garden.

It was spotless and the hosts were so helpful, especially since we were severely delayed. Just keep in mind that this is a traditional Portuguese hotel; some guests might find it a bit dated, but everything you need is there and everything is pristine.

The pool is calm, deep, and surrounded by nice nature. Breakfast is good; it isn’t very varied but it’s high quality. The owners are very pleasant. They have a large room with many toys that my son loved before we hit the pool. The restaurant across the street is typical and inexpensive. I would stay there again! The hotel is somewhat old but well maintained, the room is basic, so if you’re looking for luxury it’s not your place.

Good breakfast. The shower water was cold, otherwise everything was fine.
