The family suite had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a private terrace. The king‑size beds had very good mattresses. The pool was filled with naturally heated volcanic water and was drained and cleaned daily. The welcome was warm, and the staff offered helpful advice. The on‑site restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. The only downside was a strong damp smell in the bathrooms, which is a shame—otherwise we’d give it a 10.

The only positives were the proximity to the start of the Mount Batur climb and a pleasant view of the garden. The room and bathroom had a terrible odor. There was a lot of noise at night, flies everywhere, and a cockroach in our toiletry bag. The windows were dirty, the floor was slightly sticky, and crumbs were everywhere under the bed and sofa. The overall vibe of the place felt very gloomy.

The area is beautifully laid out with warm pools, and you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. The food at the restaurant upstairs is delicious, with large portions of fresh vegetables. Laundry service was easy to arrange and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is far from everything, but it’s very quiet. In the large family bungalow, the bathrooms had an unpleasant smell, but if you leave the lights on and ventilate, the odor quickly dissipates.

It was the worst accommodation on our four‑week trip. The houses are nicely arranged and the warm pool is great, but we never felt comfortable. It wasn’t clean. The toilet looked awful and the fixtures were so calcified that they were barely visible. We didn’t dare shower. In the evenings, the water supply ran out completely, and we couldn’t even use the toilet flush. There’s nothing nearby, so without a motor you’re completely stranded. It was very noisy, and sleeping was almost impossible.
