“Stay elsewhere”

The location was convenient, within walking distance of many shops and eateries, but I was told the room would be ready half an hour after check‑in only to find housekeeping still cleaning; I had to wait with no update, the room had ants and a cold shower, and it smelled like cigarette smoke at night—unsure if someone was smoking nearby. The owner wouldn’t accept card payment and forced me to pay cash, even though she later processed a card payment for another guest with an EFTPOS machine. She tried to get me to cancel the booking, claiming she’d allow free cancellation if I paid directly to avoid commission, which seemed unfair. We left cash at reception for safekeeping to pay a laundry service, but when we came to retrieve it she had mixed it with her own money and asked how much we had given her, so I couldn’t trust the safekeeping.

“Pension familiale très sympathique”

A family-run place run by a friendly couple that makes you feel comfortable right away, located close to the main street with the option to dine on site. The breakfast is very simple in a tiny room with industrial juices, which is disappointing for a country full of fresh fruit; that’s the only thing that could be improved in my view.

“Buen lugar para iniciar el viaje!”

It’s close to the beach, the accommodation feels comfortable and spacious with mosquito nets, and the pool is pleasant. The lunch area is quite small.
